Last year we implemented Zarro SafeNet to protect our broadband customers from malicious websites. However, the scope of this service could be expanded in future to provide parental controls etc. Currently, all customers receive the same level of protection/blocking.
We are looking into ways that we can allow self-service controls of what is/isn't blocked for your broadband circuit. This would be a control in the client portal, and would give you toggles for different categories, such as:
Malicious Websites
Phishing Domains
Adult Material
Social Networking
etc...
This would allow customers to block additional categories such as 'Adult Material' if they choose. These categories are currently allowed on all circuits by default and we're only providing filtering for malicious sites.
Additionally, longer-term, we could look at the viability of adding a function to allow customers to allow/block single domains or their own list of domains. We would provide example files for this purpose and allow customers to host their own allow/block files on our infrastructure. This will likely be its own feature request as it'll be challenging to implement due to the architecture of the solution.
